The Woolsthorpe Wind Farm (WWF) is located 25km inland from the coast, 4km west of Woolsthorpe and 10km south-east of Hawkesdale in South West Victoria, Australia. The project has an existing development approval for up to 20 wind turbine generators and associated equipment with a potential installed capacity of 55-68MW depending on the final turbine selection. The estimated total capital cost is approximately AUD$115-$145 million. The generation of wind electrical energy at Woolsthorpe will help meet Victoria’s growing demand for green power as well as providing construction and ongoing jobs for Victorians.

This will include the Planning Permit Amendment links, Endorsed Development Plan requirements and pre & post construction monitoring required under various permit conditions and management plans. These are mostly related to noise, traffic and avifauna (birds and bats).
The Planning Permit Amendment was the subject of a Planning Panels Victoria hearing and decision from the Minister of Planning as the Responsible Authority was made in May 2017. See here for more details.

Wind farming can help farmers generate vital extra income, make better use of land, and insure against market downturns. Wind farms also provide jobs.
